The Internet Medical Association began in 1993 and became an official organization in 1996. It began as a way for isolated healthcare workers around the world to interact online with their peers and gain access to accurate and up to date medical information.

The Internet Medical Journal (www.medjournal.com) is the official publication of the Internet Medical Association.
